The all-newSkoda Karoqwas displayed at the Auto Expo 2020 and is expected to be priced over Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom). Karoq, positioned below the Kodiaq in Skoda’s SUV portfolio, will come in single-spec, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine offering 150 horsepowers ad 250 Nm of torque. Karoq’s main rival in India would be the Jeep Compass. The company plans to sell 1,000 units of Karoq in 2020.
Skoda Superbfacelift and Rapid 1-litre TSI were waiting to enter the market for quite some time now, however, the lockdown delayed the plans. Both models were at the company’s pavilion at the Auto Expo.
Parting ways with the old engine, Skoda Superb will now come in 2-litre, turbo-petrol engine paired with a 7-speed DCT gearbox. The engine will be good enough for 190 horsepowers. The expected price is around Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom) and will rival Toyota Camry.
Skoda Rapid also witnesses significant changes under the hood, thanks to the new 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a manual gearbox. A 6-speed torque converter will be optional from later this year. Expect a price of around Rs 8.5 lakh 11.5 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Czech made.
