Mercedes-AMG behandelt Audi's Four Rings-uitdaging met donuts

German automakers have a habit ofpoking fun at one another, but they also have a softer side that is built on respect.

That’s clearly on display this time asMercedes-AMGhas responded toAudi’s four rings challenge.

The challenge kicked off last week when Audi asked fans to get creative and make their logo with whatever they have around. The post was accompanied by a video showing the brand’s logo recreated with everything from records and candles to glasses and charging cables.

Fans quickly responded by recreating the logo with toy cars, food and tires. Others used washers and eventoilet paper.

While the campaign was a modest success, it attracted the attention ofMercedes-AMG. In a post, they said challenge accepted and released a video of a C63 Cabriolet doing donuts to create the Audi logo. The clip is heavy on GCI, but the company said “We’re all united in the same passion, here we go with our creative contribution.”

The video was done as a good-natured gesture, butMercedeshasn’t always been as nice. Last Halloween,BMW tried to tease them by showing one of their vehicles in a BMW-styled car cover and saying “Now every car can dress up as its favorite superhero.” However, that quickly backfired when Daimler responded “That’s a really scary costume! Especially that radiator grille…”

Of course, BMW has also played nice as they released ahumorous video to mark the retirement of Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche. In the clip, a Zetsche lookalike returns home from their last day at work and celebrates by driving a BMW i8 Roadster as he’s “free at last.”
