This 1964 Peugeot 404 cabriolet was reportedly sold to its first owner by a Peugeot dealer in Tana, Madagascar, and remained in the country with two subsequent owners. The previous owner commissioned a cosmetic refurbishment before the car was acquired by the current owner in 2013 and imported from Madagascar to California. A mechanical overhaul was then carried out, including installation of a rebuilt BMW 2.0-liter M10 inline-four and a Getrag 260 five-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Other additions include twin Weber 40 DCOE carburetors, a shorty exhaust header, Wilwood front brakes, a BMW 2002 front suspension setup, rear air-ride suspension, and more as outlined below. Service within the last month included tuning the carburetors, adjusting the valves, changing the oil, and correcting suspension issues. This 404C is now offered on behalf of the current owner with a black removable hardtop, recent service records, shipping documents, and a clean California title.

A five-lug conversion kit from Ireland Engineering accommodates 15” wheels, which wear ventilated chrome covers and Riken Raptor tires. The braking system features front Wilwood discs and a BMW 2002 brake master cylinder.
